Two-Day National Workshop on Cognitive, Social, and Behavioural Psychology Practice and Protection Through IPR
A Two-Day National Workshop on Cognitive, Social, and Behavioural Psychology Practice and Protection through Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was successfully held at the Dolphin (PG) Institute of Biomedical and Natural Sciences, Dehradun, on 25 th – 26 th April, 2025. The workshop drew enthusiastic participation from researchers, academicians, and students. The inaugural session of the Two-Day National Workshop commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Versha Parcha, Dean Research. In her address, Dr. Parcha extended a cordial welcome to all the esteemed guests, resource persons, and enthusiastic participants who had gathered from varied fields. Following the welcome address, the Introduction of the Workshop was presented by the Organizing Secretary, Dr. Aditi Chauhan who provided a detailed overview of the workshop structure, objectives, and the diverse range of topics that would be covered over the two days. The inaugural ceremony was graced by, Dr. Madhur Uniyal, Associate Professor, AIIMS, Rishikesh, who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in understanding human behaviour and the need for protecting intellectual creations in the academic and research landscape. Dr. Uniyal's insightful address focused on the critical and timely topic of "Trauma and the Psyche". His expertise shed light on the multifaceted impact of trauma on cognitive, social, and behavioural functioning, providing a foundational understanding for the subsequent sessions on psychological sciences. Dr. Uniyal address was well-received and set a compelling tone for the workshop. Following the inaugural session including the keynote by Dr. Madhur Uniyal, the workshop delved into its technical sessions. The First Technical Session of the day was led by Dr. S K Dhalwal from the National Institute for the Visually Handicapped (NIVH), Dehradun. Dr. Dhalwal's session focused on Cognitive, social and beavioural innovations and protecion. His expertise and insights provided a unique and valuable perspective for the participants, highlighting the application of psychological principles in diverse contexts. Following a networking lunch, the Second Technical Session was conducted by Dr. Rajesh Bhatt from Doon University, Dehradun. Dr. Bhatt's session centered on CBT Levels of Thinking. His engaging presentation and discussion further enriched the participants' understanding of contemporary issues and research trends within the field. The first technical session of the second day (26 th April, 2025) was led by Dr. Ashwini Kumar from IGNOU, Delhi. His informative session focused on "The Science of Behaviour and Statistics through the Software JASP (Jombavi)". Dr. Kumar provided participants with a practical introduction to using the JASP statistical software, demonstrating its capabilities in analyzing behavioural data and making statistical concepts more accessible. This hands-on approach equipped attendees with valuable skills for their research endeavors. The second session of the day was conducted online by Dr. Himanshu Goel. Dr. Goel's session addressed the crucial topic of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). He provided insights into the various forms of IPR, their significance in protecting academic and research outputs, and the processes involved in securing and managing intellectual property. The online format allowed for broader participation and facilitated a comprehensive overview of this vital area. The workshop concluded with a Valedictory Session, graced by motivational speaker and Industrialist Dr. Gopal Krishna Sharma, who acclaimed psychology as a vital, emerging field in all professional domains. Chairman Mr. Arvind Gupta also highlighted the scientific and holistic value of psychology and the need for assessment-driven improvements in academic events. The workshop hosted more than a hundred participants, and 15 posters were presented across two categories—Psychology and IPR. In Psychology, Ayan Giri, Rudrakshi Mishra, and Vidushi Phartiyal secured the top three positions; in IPR, Sanjay Tamta, Sandhya, and Shreya were recognized. Participant feedback underscored the workshop’s impact, with many calling it a milestone in their academic journey. The Two-Day National Workshop successfully achieved its objectives of providing participants with valuable knowledge in Cognitive, Social, and Behavioural Psychology, practical statistical skills, and essential awareness regarding Intellectual Property Rights
