Dolphin (PG) Institute of Biomedical & Natural Sciences (DIBNS), Dehradun, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ISKCON Dehradun on 1st March 2026 at the DIBNS campus, marking a significant milestone in advancing Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and value-based education in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The MoU was formally exchanged between Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Director, IIT Mandi, representing ISKCON Dehradun, and Prof. Shailja Pant, Principal, DIBNS. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to integrating timeless Indian wisdom with contemporary higher education.
As a key outcome of this MoU, DIBNS and ISKCON will collaboratively initiate a structured course on the Bhagavad Gita under the IKS framework, aimed at inculcating ethical values, holistic thinking, and value-oriented knowledge among students. The course will blend philosophical insights from the Bhagavad Gita with scientific temper and modern pedagogical approaches.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by senior academic leadership and faculty members of the institute, including Dr. Versa Parcha, Dean (Research), Dr. Gyanendra Awasthi, Dean (Academics), Dr. Shruti Sharma, Coordinator, IQAC, and Dr. Aasheesh Raturi, NEP and IKS Coordinator. The IKS team members, Dr. C. S. Pandey and Dr. V. C. Reddy, along with Heads of Departments and faculty members, were also present on the occasion.
The dignitaries emphasized that this collaboration underscores DIBNS’s proactive role in promoting Indian Knowledge Systems, value-based learning, and holistic education, while leveraging ISKCON’s rich tradition of spiritual and philosophical scholarship inspired by the teachings of Śrīla Prabhupāda.
This MoU is expected to create meaningful academic, cultural, and societal impact by nurturing students who are intellectually sound, ethically grounded, and socially responsible.
