MISSION OF ECO-CLUB

The mission of the eco club is “Go Green initiative” to raise the students interest” over environmental issues and to get the students actively involved in environmental matters from their own area. The club also seeks to conserve nature’s heritage by education and direct conservation efforts to spread awareness about good environmental practices like for a ban on plastic, proper dumping of garbage, planting of tress etc.

ACTIVITY

An activity on “Homing Sparrow and Birds” was organized by Eco Club DIBNS on 9th January 2023. In this activity sparrow houses and bird nests were placed at different locations in the campus so as to provide suitable nesting places for birds. Students were explained the necessity of the conservation of birds and their nesting habitats. Principal, Dr. Shailja Pant, DIBNS encouraged the students for conservation practices during this event. A lecture was delivered by Dr.Deepali Rana, Department of Zoology, highlighting upon bird’s habitat, their nesting, breeding and feeding grounds. This activity was stewarded by Dr. C.S. Pandey, Dr. A. K. Uniyal, Dr. A. K. Pundir, Dr. Deepali Rana and was attended by 59 students of ECO CLUB, DIBNS.

It is indeed overwhelming to see the positive results of the efforts taken up by the Eco Club as birds were observed nesting in these sparrows houses.
