Department: Computer Science/ ECE/ AI & ML/ Management

Role & Responsibilities:

For HOD

  • Provide academic and administrative leadership to the department.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor teaching, learning, and assessment activities.
  • Ensure effective curriculum delivery in line with university/institute norms.
  • Guide faculty members in academic planning, research, innovation, and professional development.
  • Promote quality assurance, accreditation readiness, and outcome-based education practices.
  • Oversee student mentoring, discipline, attendance, and academic progression.
  • Encourage industry interaction, internships, projects, and placement-related initiatives.
  • Organize seminars, workshops, FDPs, conferences, and other departmental activities.
  • Support research, publications, consultancy, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and optimum utilization of departmental laboratories, infrastructure, and resources.

For Professor

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses effectively as per the curriculum.
  • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, content enrichment, and innovative pedagogy.
  • Undertake research, publish in reputed journals, and guide student/faculty research projects.
  • Support departmental academic planning and institutional development activities.
  • Conduct and participate in seminars, workshops, conferences, and extension activities.
  • Promote industry-academia interaction and practical exposure for students.
  • Assist in quality assurance, accreditation, and documentation work.

For Associate Professor

  • Teach assigned courses and ensure effective delivery of subject content.
  • Contribute to academic planning, student mentoring, and evaluation processes.
  • Participate in research, publications, project guidance, and innovation activities.
  • Assist in organizing seminars, workshops, FDPs, and departmental events.
  • Encourage student participation in projects, internships, and skill development initiatives.
  • Support curriculum improvement and adoption of modern teaching-learning practices.
  • Contribute to departmental administration and institutional responsibilities as assigned.

For Assistant Professor

  • Teach courses assigned by the department as per institutional requirements.
  • Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and assessment tools.
  • Mentor students academically and support their overall development.
  • Participate in departmental activities, academic administration, and institutional committees.
  • Assist in laboratory work, project supervision, and practical training wherever required.
  • Engage in research, publications, and skill upgradation activities.
  • Support organization of seminars, workshops, field visits, and student development programmes.
  • Contribute to documentation, accreditation support work, and other academic responsibilities assigned by the Institute.

Desirable Skills

Candidates should possess strong communication, academic, and interpersonal skills; the ability to contribute to teaching, mentoring, curriculum development, research, publications, projects, and consultancy; familiarity with outcome-based education, accreditation, and academic documentation; proficiency in ICT-enabled teaching-learning tools; industry exposure and capacity to strengthen internships, collaborations, and placements; and a commitment to academic excellence, teamwork, leadership, and institutional development.

Job Description:
Applications are invited for the position of Project Assistant under the DST–NCSTC funded initiative titled:

“Stars Over the Hills: An Astronomy Outreach Programme for Remote Hilly School Communities of Uttarakhand”

Department: Physics

Duration: 12 Months (Purely temporary and co-terminus with the project)
Salary: ₹37,000/- per month (Consolidated)

Role & Responsibilities:

Assist in coordination and documentation activities

Conduct astronomy outreach sessions and support field visits

Engage with school-level stakeholders and manage event execution

Essential Qualification:
M.Sc. in Physics / M.Tech / M.Sc. in Science Communication with First Division

Desirable Skills:

Strong communication and coordination abilities

Experience in science education, astronomy outreach, or public engagement

Willingness to travel to remote districts of Uttarakhand
