The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Army Wing at Dolphin Institute of Biomedical and Natural Sciences, Dehradun, was established in 2018 with an initial enrollment of 52 cadets, including bothSeniorDivision(SD)andSeniorWing(SW).Sinceitsinception,theunithasbeencommitted to nurturing disciplined, responsible, and nation-oriented youth.The firstAssociate NCC Officer (ANO), Lt. Rohit Maithani, was commissioned in 2019 after successfully completing training at the Officers TrainingAcademy (OTA), Kamptee, Nagpur. He further enhanced his professional competence by undergoing a refresher course at OTA Kamptee in 2023 and is expected to be promoted to the rank of Captain in 2027.

The NCC functions under the aegis of 29 UK Battalion, Dehradun, and continues to expand its reach and impact. From an initial strength of 52 cadets, the total authorized seats have now increased to 76 in 2026, with a vision to reach 100 cadets in the coming session.

The NCC aims to develop character, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service among youth. Its core objectives include:

TrainingandCurriculum

TheNCCcurriculumisstructuredinto CommonSubjectsandSpecializedService Subjects:

  • CommonSubjectsincludeleadership,personalitydevelopment,drill,nationalintegration, social service, environmental awareness, and disaster management.
  • Special Subjects (Army Wing) focus on military training such as weapon training, fieldcraft, battle craft, map reading, and basic tactics.

InstitutionalTraining

Institutional training is conducted regularly within the college premises under the guidance of trained instructors and theANO. It includes parade drills, theory classes, physical training, and preparation for various NCC certifications (B, and C certificates).
