International Day of Yoga- 2025
Dolphin (PG) Institute of Biomedical & Natural Sciences, Dehradun, celebrated International Day of Yoga 2025 with great zeal and active participation from students, faculty, and staff. The event was organized on the institute premises on 21 st June 2025 at 7:30 AM. 87 participants were present at the event. The yoga session commenced under the guidance of Mr. N.K. Joshi, Sports Officer of the institute. Ms. Anshika Sharma assisted Mr. Joshi in demonstrating a series of Yoga asanas. The participants, including a large number of students and teaching/non-teaching staff, enthusiastically followed the instructors, performing various postures like Child’s pose that allows one to reconnect with his breath and provides a gentle release for the lower back and hips, Cat-Cow pose, which stretches their spine, engages the core, and opens the chest, Chair pose to strengthen the legs, back, and shoulders. This move challenges one’s balance, Downward Dog pose, which stretches the shoulders, hamstrings, calves, and feet while strengthening the arms and legs, Bridge pose to strengthen the backside of your body and breathing exercises like kapalbhati, nadi shodhan, bhastika etc. The event was organized under the aegis of DSWC. Mr. Vipul Garg, Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) encouraged the participants to practice yoga regularly for a balanced lifestyle. He also said that yoga not only improves one’s flexibility and increase your strength, it can also improve your energy levels, reduce stress and anxiety, and aid in weight management. The celebration highlighted the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well- being and resonated with this year's International Day of Yoga theme Yoga for One Earth, One Health. The event concluded with a collective meditation session.
