Introduction

The Dolphin Students Welfare Council (DSWC) stands as an inspiration of support with a steadfast dedication to enhancing the personality and skills of our students, the working of DSWC operate under the umbrella of the Governing Council and Students Executive Committee to ensure a comprehensive approach for student welfare.

The fundamental idea of our council is that all students should have access to opportunities, resources, and assistance that foster their development and overall well-being. Our objective is to cater to the various needs of our student body, which include personal growth, social integration, and academic achievement, by means of a wide array of programmes and events.

The Student’s Welfare Fund is the backbone of our efforts; it is an essential resource that helps us plan, fund, and carry out worthwhile projects. We work to establish a campus culture where students feel respected, listened, and empowered to realise their full potential with the help of this fund and the hard work of our committed team. Together, we embark on a journey to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive community where the spirit of collaboration, compassion, and solidarity thrives. The Dolphin Students Welfare Council welcomes every student to join us in shaping a brighter, more fulfilling college experience for all.

VISION

To establish a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where each student can flourish, grow in all aspects and make a significant contribution to society. Planning and carrying out a variety of charitable endeavours on behalf of the students In order to promote a culture of compassion, accountability, and community involvement.

MISSION

Our mission is to improve students’ overall well-being by encouraging involvement in extracurricular and curricular activities at the intercollegiate, interuniversity and interstate levels, identify the hidden talents and groom them and offering financial assistance, expanding the number of scholarship opportunities.

Objectives of the Student's - Welfare Council

  1. Ensure Maximum Participation in Extra- Curricular & Co-Curricular activities and Competitions: Encourage and facilitate student participation in inter-college, inter-university, and interstate competitions. o Provide necessary resources and support for students to prepare for and attend these competitions. o Recognize and reward student achievements in various competitions to motivate continued participation and excellence.
  2. Provide Financial Help and support to the Weaker Section of Society: Establish and manage the Student’s Welfare Fund to support students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. o Develop and implement programs to provide financial aid, including grants for essential needs. o Distribution of necessary items like stationary school dress sports items etc. to the needy students of nearby schools. o Provide scholarships and free ships to the students belonging to the weaker section of the society o Arrange Health Camps, organize awareness programmes related to health and hygiene in the adjoining villages 
  3. Explore the Working Area of the Council: o Identify and address the diverse needs of students. o Continuously expand and improve the range of welfare services and activities offered. o Foster a sense of community and belonging among students.

Structure and Leadership

The Student’s Welfare Council is chaired by the Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW), consist of three faculty Executive members and 25 Students members of different streams, who oversees the coordination and execution of various welfare activities. It is responsible for coordinating and executing various welfare activities for the students and philanthropic activities on their behalf. This leadership structure ensures that the welfare activities are well-organized and effectively implemented, addressing both the immediate and long-term needs of the students.

Fund Management

The Management of the Institute provides financial assistance for the smooth running of the Dolphin Student’s Welfare Council. The fund is utilized under the guidance of Student’s welfare committee, which is headed by the Dean Students’ Welfare. The fund is utilized to organize various cultural, literary, sports, social and philanthropic activities and events for the students. It is also utilized for granting scholarships to poor but meritorious students. In addition to contributory funding by the management, the office of the dean student’s welfare will also involve itself regularly in various fund raising events round the year for philanthropic activities.

Key Initiatives & Activities
  1. Human Values and Community Outreach (HVCO) Activities: To raise students’ awareness of social issues and values, the council hosts HVCO programs on a regular basis. Blood donation drives, drug abuse awareness campaigns, traffic safety education, women’s empowerment, and gender sensitization are a few of these initiatives. The council also organizes plantation drives and donates school supplies, uniforms, and sweaters to help orphans and impoverished kids.

Objectives

  • Educate students on the value of sustainable living and environmental issues. Plan and conduct workshops, seminars, and lectures on a range of environmental subjects, including biodiversity, climate change, and conservation.
  • Adopt and encourage environmentally friendly procedures including waste minimization, recycling, and energy conservation.
  • Take part in initiatives to preserve and enhance campus green areas.
    Plan garden maintenance days, tree planting campaigns, and other environmental projects.
  • Perform Environmental Audits by routinely evaluating how the operations of the school or college affect the environment.
  • Raise awareness and mobilize the community by taking advantage of occasions like World Environment Day and Earth Day.
  • Offer materials and assistance for environmental science and sustainability-related classroom activities. By pursuing these objectives, the Eco Club aims to create a vibrant and proactive community of environmentally conscious individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact on the planet.

  • Facilitate cultural exchange programs with other institutions or communities to broaden students’ cultural horizons.
  • Develop students’ leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills through active participation in the club’s activities.
  • Provide opportunities for students to take on leadership roles in planning and managing cultural events.

By pursuing these objectives, the Cultural Club aims to enrich the campus experience, foster a deeper understanding of cultural diversity, and cultivate a vibrant community that celebrates and respects the myriad cultures represented within the student body.

  • Highlight the connections between literature and other fields such as history, philosophy, and social sciences.
