Punarvasu at Sparsh Fest 2025

PUNARVASU Lights Up the Night Sky at Sparsh Himalaya Festival 2025!

The Astronomy Club of Dolphin (PG) Institute of Biomedical & Natural Sciences, Dehradun, was invited to conduct a spectacular Star Gazing Session at the Sparsh Himalaya Festival 2025, an International Literature, Culture & Arts Festival held on 3rd November 2025 at the serene Lekhak Gaon, Dehradun.
The evening held special significance as it marked the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Uttarakhand State, blending the spirit of literature, culture, and science under the vast Himalayan sky.
The session was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Former Education Minister, Government of India; Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand; and Founder of Lekhak Gaon. His inspiring words highlighted the deep connection between knowledge, creativity, and cosmic wonder.

More than 200 participants, including eminent writers, poets, folk singers, artists, and dignitaries, experienced the awe of the universe firsthand — observing the Moon, Saturn’s majestic rings, the Andromeda Galaxy, and several deep-sky objects through Celestron 8SE telescopes operated by the Punarvasu Astronomy Club.
The event was led by Dr. Aasheesh Raturi, accompanied by Dr. Nitesh Kumar and Mr. Abhishek Negi. We were also honoured by the participation of Prof. Hemwati Nandan, who interacted enthusiastically with attendees, sharing fascinating scientific perspectives that bridged art and astronomy.
The night truly reflected how poetry met the planets, and imagination touched infinity, celebrating Uttarakhand’s 25 years of progress with a vision as vast as the universe itself.
