World Water Day 2025

The Research and Academic Council (RAC), with the collective efforts of its members, successfully organized an enlightening event on the occasion of World Water Day, celebrated on March 22, 2025. Centered around the theme of Glacier Preservation, the event brought together students, faculty, and environmental enthusiasts for an engaging and insightful experience.
The event commenced with a captivating lecture by Dr. Rakesh Bhambari, a distinguished scientist from the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology (WIHG). His talk, titled “Impact of Climate Warming on Himalayan Glaciers and Associated Hazards,” provided an in-depth analysis of the alarming effects of climate change on Himalayan glaciers. He emphasized the urgent need for preservation measures and sustainable interventions. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where attendees actively engaged, further enriching their understanding of the subject.
Following the lecture, Dr. Versha Parcha, Dean (Research), addressed the audience, sharing her valuable perspectives on the significance of glacier preservation. She encouraged students to actively participate in research and conservation efforts, reinforcing the role of scientific inquiry in tackling environmental challenges.
The E-Poster Competition was a highlight of the event, showcasing the creativity and research expertise of over 20 student participants. Their posters covered various aspects of glacier preservation, climate change impacts, and sustainable solutions. The visually compelling and research-driven presentations were evaluated by a distinguished panel comprising Dr. Rakesh Bhambari, Dr. Gyanendra Awasthi Dean Academics, and esteemed faculty members. Judging criteria included originality, scientific accuracy, and presentation skills.
The winners of the competition were:
First Prize: Vishad Chauhan Dept of Microbiology
Second Prize: Aryan Giri Dept of Biotechnology
Third Prize: Sanjay Tamta Dept of Pharmaceutical Chemistry& Chemistry
Consolation Prizes: Shruti and Praveena Dept of Biotechnology
All winners and participants received certificates in recognition of their contributions.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Aashesh Raturi, acknowledging the efforts of Dr. Rakesh Bhambari, the participants, faculty, and the organizing team Dr Deepti Warikoo, Dr Deepak Kumar, Dr Shalini Singh Dr Tripti malik , Dr sandhya Gosawami Dr Virender, Dr.Ankur Adhikari & Dr.Prince and student members .
