Workshop on Farm Animal law & Environmental Law

A two,- day workshop on Farm Animal law & Environmental Law was organised by Department of Agriculture DIBNS, Dehradun on 19th and 20th November, 2024. It was in collaboration with The Pollination Project Foundation. Ms. Anchal Raturi, Project Lead in the Project Relearn: Relearning Farm Animal Laws and Environmental Laws elaborately explained laws related to Farm Animals and Environment, which are of extreme importance to animal lovers in general and students of Agriculture in particular. It was helpful to sharpen the basic understanding of these laws for the students. In the afternoon session, students were given on-hand training for Seed bomb preparation, it’s advantages and application in the areas of concern were also explained.

On the second day of the workshop, the students visited Krishna Dham Gaushala, Sherpur, Shimla by-pass, Dehradun. In this Gaushala, who are crucial to protect abandoned, abused, or neglected/ rescued cows and equines are kept and taken care of to lessen their physical discomfort. More than 2000 such animals have been given shelter there. The 2 days workshop was highly beneficial to the students as they had a lot to takeaway from the sessions.

More than a hundred students attended the workshop.
