The Department of Physiotherapy actively participated in the World Conference WPAWP 2026, held at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, New Delhi, on 26th and 27th September 2026. The conference brought together physiotherapy professionals, academicians, researchers, and students, providing a platform for academic exchange, professional networking, and knowledge sharing.
A significant achievement for the department was the contribution of Dr. Deptee Warikoo, who served as the Coordinator of the Scientific Committee. She was also invited as a speaker for a panel discussion, contributing her expertise to the academic deliberations. Dr. Warikoo was felicitated for her contribution as an author of the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Physiotherapy in Musculoskeletal Post-Surgical Conditions: Arthroplasties. She also presented a research paper at the conference.
Dr. Keerty Mathur, Associate Professor, represented the department as a judge for the Ad-Made Show, contributing to the evaluation of the event.
The department also had strong representation in the Scientific Committee, with Dr. Deepak Yadav, Dr. Rupali Gurung, and Dr. Akanksha serving as committee members.
Adding to the cultural and institutional representation, Dr. Chaitanya K. Tamang, Dr. Nitin Bhardwaj, and Dr. Vishal Dumka participated in the Uttarakhand Parade held during the conference, proudly representing the state and the institution.
### Student Achievements
The students of the Department of Physiotherapy also brought laurels to the institution by demonstrating their creativity and enthusiasm in the Physio Reel Competition.
Bhavya and her group from BPT 5th Semester secured the First Prize, while Anushka and her group from BPT 1st Year secured the Second Prize in the competition.
Their achievement highlighted the students’ creativity, teamwork, and ability to communicate physiotherapy-related concepts through innovative digital media.
The conference also witnessed enthusiastic participation from the student community, with more than 140 students from the institute attending the event. Their participation provided them with valuable exposure to contemporary developments in physiotherapy, opportunities to interact with professionals and academicians, and a broader understanding of the evolving scope of the profession.
The department’s active participation and achievements at WPAWP 2026 reflect its continued commitment to academic excellence, research, professional development, student engagement, creativity, and active participation in the wider physiotherapy community.
