Department of Physiotherapy, DIBNS provided physiotherapy services at Uttarakhand State Level School Athletic meet from 28th October 2023 till 30th October 2023 at Maharana Pratap Stadium, Dehradun. Schools of all 13 districts of Uttarakhand participated in the meet. The event was inaugrated by Mr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Health & Education Minister.
Physiotherapy team included Dr Deptee Warikoo, Dr Richa Agarwal, Dr Diksha Bhatt and Dr. Nidhi Rawat along with students of UG and PG programmes of the Department. The physiotherapists on field explained the athletes that Pre-competition physical therapy is essential for minimizing injury risk. On field all physios identified and corrected biomechanical imbalances, preventing potential issues from escalating. The physiotherapists helped in prevention and management of injuries resulting from sport and exercise participation. Around 100 athletes were treated on and off ground during the event. The team was felicitated by the organisers at the end for the event for their contribution.
